Apr 29

It was close; we’re almost out of April.  However, the crew that keeps all that DB2 for z/OS documentation up to date slipped in an April refresh of the product publications just under the wire keeping up the newly established tradition of publishing documentation updates on an almost monthly bases….. As you review the list of latest DB2 manuals to be updated, there are a couple of things I would like to point out.  Each entry below includes the name of the file that is actually downloaded when you retrieve one of the DB2 publication PDF files.  This is in addition to the real publication name and size.  I am also including the publication release number; that’s the last two digits of the publication number following the hyphen that no one usually uses.  All of this is in a effort to make sure you are downloading the correct (newest) copy of the DB2 manual.

You can head out to the IBM DB2 product library web site and download them now.    You can also click through the list of DB2 10 manuals that have been updated listed in this post for your convenience.

My first list are the 11 DB2 10 for z/OS publications updated for April 2012,

Finally, there was one (1) DB2 Version 8 publications updated this time around.  If you are still running DB2 Version 8, you want to make sure you have the latest documentation.  I’m also not sure if we will see many additional updates to the DB2 V8 publications now that V8 has reached its April 30, 2012  End of Service (EoS) date nor do I know how much longer the publications web page for V8 will remain available.   The DB2 V8 publications are still available for download in Book Manager format (although PDF format is only listed here).

Finally, and maybe most importantly, the best place to get hold of the most up to date information about DB2 for z/OS, regardless of the release, will almost always be the Information Center on the web  .
