DB2 for z/OS Version 8 goes out of SERIVCE (End of Service) on April 20, 2012, just three months from now.

DB2 10 once again offers a skip level migration from DB2 Version 8 to DB2 10.

DB2 10 has a lot of very nice new features in it.  One such feature is the ability to make LOAD, COPY, REORG, and REBUILD always use FLASHCOPY, even when not specified in the utility control cards.
